Sheriff Lavender reports that his office partnered with the U.S. Marshals Office S.O.F.A.S.T. (Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team) on 06-16-17 and 06-17-17. During this time 24 members of the S.O.F.A.S.T. team partnered with deputies from the Sheriff’s Office to serve 23 arrest warrants. The service of these warrants lead to the discovery of a Meth Lab, the seizure of suspected Heroin, Marijuana, approximately $3,000.00, and a firearm.
The patrol division also conducted increased traffic enforcement and drug interdiction efforts.
The U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force assisted during the operation by dismantling the Meth Lab and processing drug evidence.
Sheriff Lavender wants to express his appreciation to the Marshals Office, and his employees who worked this detail taking time away from their friends and family to show a strong law enforcement presence in Ross County.
He also wants to recognize his entire corrections staff that had the burden of processing over 70 prisoners this weekend. The detail exceeded expectations and Sheriff Lavender is planning future details with Marshals Office.
