Insurance brokerage Rogers Insurance, based in Calgary, was one of only three insurers that made the list of Canada’s top 100 small- to medium-sized employers: and the insurer has now responded to its recognition.
The Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers 2017 list, compiled by editors of Mediacorp Canada, was unveiled at an annual awards ceremony late last month. Employers that made the list were evaluated based on various criteria, such as physical workplace conditions, work atmosphere, employee benefits, vacation, employee communication, performance management, training, and community involvement.

“The management of Rogers firmly believes that our greatest asset is the people we invest in and the culture we create together,” said Rogers Insurance COO Bruce Rabik. “We are proud to have won 15 major HR awards in the past 10 years. This award in particular is a testament to our dedication to create a positive corporate culture for our employees.”
Rogers Insurance was recognized specifically for encouraging its workforce to become owners of the company through a share purchase plan that is made available to all employees.
According to a release, the Top Small & Medium Employers award happened to coincide with Rogers’ 40th anniversary in business.
